The Balance of Life: Exploring the Light and Dark Through Horror and Comedy
Horror and comedy may seem like opposites, but both are deeply connected to life’s experiences. Life isn’t necessarily filled with horrific things (it most definitely can be), but it’s often unsettling, worrisome, and full of disappointments.
That’s where horror comes in—it reflects those uncertainties and the unknown. It helps us confront and process those darker aspects of life. On the flip side, life is also filled with comedy, joy and peace.
For me, comedy comes naturally, offering relief and connection. But writing horror, especially in a Twilight Zone style, stretches my creativity and allows me to explore those unsettling questions and ‘what ifs.’
